Melissa L. Pincus is a Manhattan-based brand marketing copywriter with over 15 years of experience in writing copy and creating content for retail and advertising, and over 8 years of experience in managing people. She holds a B.F.A in Advertising Design from Syracuse University’s College of Visual & Performing Arts. While writing is Melissa’s passion, her design background has been a proven asset in understanding the creative process as a whole.
Melissa is currently freelancing for brands in the home decor, gifting, and pet care spaces. Previously, she was the Copy Manager at Bed Bath & Beyond, where she oversaw the editorial copy teams for Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY. Melissa also worked in-house at One Kings Lane for nearly nine years, where she went from being the first copywriter on staff to managing the e-commerce copy team. She began her career in advertising, with full-time roles at Cline Davis & Mann, and at TBWA\Chiat\Day NY, where she wrote a nationally recognized, award-winning campaign for The Ad Council in partnership with the U.S. Olympic Committee.
When she's not glued to her laptop (and sometimes when she is), Melissa can be found listening to or playing music, enjoying a music or true crime podcast, keeping up with social media trends and pop culture, watching Jeopardy, reading nonfiction, taking pictures of old doors, playing field hockey, or going on absurdly long walks around the city.
